Our mission here at Roamli is to create a community of engaged explorers who feel comfortable sharing their experiences with like minded individuals, friends, and family. We understand the necessity to create a positive environment for people to communicate and work diligently in keeping abuse off our platform. The Community Standards outlined below dictates what is allowed on Roamli and help create the best possible community we can.

Player Guidelines

We want Roamli’s experience to be a fun and safe experience for all users and everyone in the world where people use our platform. The Player Guidelines will help ensure that everyone has an amazing experience. Please note that any violations of these guidelines can result in the permanent suspension of your account.

If you notice other players in your surrounding who are violating these rules, please remove yourself from the situation and report any situations to us through the in-app reporting feature or www.roamli.com.  

You will likely encounter other Roamli users in the world and it’s in everyone’s best interest to keep things courteous and friendly for all. Respect other players both in the app and in the real world. 

Some key principles to keep in mind are:

• Never violate the legal rights of others including privacy and publicity.

• Never impersonate other users or Roamli staff.

• Never take photos or videos of other users without their explicit permission.

• Never harass, abuse, or threaten another player.

• Never expose another users’ identity without their consent.

It’s also extremely important that as a user you stay aware of your surroundings and follow all rules you normally would in the human world.

Roamli is designed to be played outdoors and we encourage everyone to exercise caution while completing challenges and interacting with the platform. As with any outdoor activity there are dangers outside of your control and we recommend always being aware of them. Some additional guidelines below will help as you traverse the world:

• Remain aware of your environment and avoid going into any dangerous areas or ones not permitted. Do not trespass.

• As with any mobile app, Roamli should not be used in any capacity while operating a vehicle.

• While walking, users should be aware of any other hazards such as traffic, pedestrians, obstacles, and more.

As Roamli provides real world rewards and incentives we take cheating extremely seriously on our platform. Having adventures in the real world are meant to be genuine and fun so it’s important as a user you don’t deny yourself or others the authentic experience. Some things to refrain from:

• Creating multiple accounts (one account per person)

• Sharing accounts

• Selling or buying accounts

• Using methods or tools to modify your actual location (“spoofing”)

Safety Guidelines

First and foremost our goal is to prevent potential harm of any form that may be related to content on Roamli. We deactivate accounts, monitor content, and work with law enforcement when we believe there is a genuine risk of threats to public safety. We also consider the language and context in order to distinguish casual statements from content that constitutes a legitimate threat to public or personal safety. In determining whether a threat is credible, we may also consider additional information like a person's public visibility and the risks to their physical safety.

Refrain from posting:

Threats that could lead to death (and other forms of high-severity violence) of any target(s) where threat is defined as any of the following:

Statements of intent to commit high-severity violence; or

Calls for high-severity violence including content where no target is specified but a symbol represents the target and/or includes a visual of an armament to represent violence; or

Statements advocating for high-severity violence; or

Aspirational or conditional statements to commit high-severity violence

Admissions, statements of intent or advocacy, calls to action, or aspirational or conditional statements to kidnap a target.

Threats that lead to serious injury (mid-severity violence) towards private individuals, minor public figures, high risk persons, or high risk groups where threat is defined as any of the following:

Statements of intent to commit violence; or

Statements advocating violence; or

Calls for mid-severity violence including content where no target is specified but a symbol represents the target; or

Aspirational or conditional statements to commit violence; or

Content about other target(s) apart from private individuals, minor public figures, high risk persons, or high risk groups and any credible:

Statements of intent to commit violence; or

Calls for action of violence; or

Statements advocating for violence; or

Aspirational or conditional statements to commit violence

Threats that lead to physical harm (or other forms of lower-severity violence) towards private individuals (self-reporting required) or minor public figures where threat is defined as any of the following:

Private individuals (name and/or face match are required) or minor public figures that includes:

Statements of intent, calls for action, advocating, aspirational or conditional statements to commit low-severity violence

Any content containing statements of intent, calls for action, or advocating for high or mid-severity violence due to voting, voter registration, or the outcome of an election

Misinformation and unverifiable rumors that contribute to the risk of imminent violence or physical harm.

Statements of intent or advocacy, calls to action, or aspirational or conditional statements to bring weapons to locations, including but not limited to places of worship, educational facilities or polling places (or encouraging others to do the same).

Inappropriate Content

Since Roamli focuses on landmarks and public works found throughout the world we understand the possibility that users may maliciously attempt to share inappropriate content while uploading photos for challenges. We do not allow content containing nudity or highlighting profanity.

While we continuously monitor our platform for inappropriate content, users who voluntarily opt-in to review Challenge Submissions may encounter some inappropriate content inadvertently which we will be immediately reported and removed.

Bullying and Harassment

It is extremely important to our team at Roamli that we have a zero-tolerance policy in regards to online Bullying and Harassment. While they come in many forms, we want to ensure that all people feel comfortable and safe while using Roamli.

We want to allow interaction and discussion between users through posts and profiles however it is important that users follow the Community Standards outlined to create a positive environment for all. Users can feel safe reporting dangerous or inappropriate behavior knowing that we will do everything to address it immediately.

Peer Reviewing of Content

User Submissions need to be reviewed before being awarded points. Users like you are the primary reviewers, and will earn points for each User Submission they review.

This helps keep the Roamli community safe and gives users a chance to explore what other amazing things there are to see around the world! A user submission should be approved if the User Submission photo contains the Challenge found in the Original image anywhere in the photo, even if it’s not the same angle, weather, or time of day. Selfies are fine too!

A User submission should be declined if it:

• Does not contain the challenge from the Original reference photo anywhere in the User Submission photo.

• Contains inappropriate content that violates our Community Standards such as violence, nudity, or hate speech.

Roamli’s goal is to build a positive global community where users can share and view each others’ experiences safely. Most approved submissions will be visible publicly to all other users, so please review User Submissions accurately!

As a reviewer, you’ll be checking for inappropriate behavior in Users Submissions. Some users might submit offensive or inappropriate content. Please report this by declining submissions and marking “inappropriate” as the reason. We will immediately take action against the post if it is indeed deemed inappropriate. We take the safety of our community very seriously and will remove inappropriate users from the Roamli platform.

Intellectual Property

Roamli understands the importance of intellectual property rights and know how important it is to uphold regarding developing creative content within our community. As the user you own all content and information you share on Roamli and we are committed to helping others promote their intellectual property rights. Our Terms of Service maintain IP rights including copyright and trademark and we will continue to enforce it within our applications.
